Wandilla Magic Philosophy
The Magic of Learning and Growing
At Wandilla Magic Child Care Centre we strive to provide an inclusive environment for all children, educators, families and our surrounding community – where no person feels disadvantaged or discriminated against and diversity is respected, accepted and celebrated.
We acknowledge the Yugambeh language speaking people as the traditional owners of our land and strive to collaborate with our Indigenous community to ensure that the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective is celebrated in meaningful ways within our service, upholding and reflecting the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and being.
We identify that every child has individual needs and that those needs may vary. We endeavor to maintain strong and supportive relationships with our families and build key links in our community, providing us the opportunity to bridge the gap and better support our children’s and families needs.
Our educators identify that enriched care giving is the foundation to building secure relationships. We recognise that children thrive when being a part of an environment where they feel valued and supported, we understand this must take place first before we can begin embarking on a learning journey together.
Children will be respected and their voices will drive our programs to ensure that we deliver the most meaningful outcomes for children in our care, as they grow and learn to be positive contributors to our society.
We recognise the Theory of Flow and the positive effects children finding their flow can have on their development and overall well-being. By Providing the children with a safe and supportive space and materials to explore, we will extend the child’s knowledge and understanding of the world around them, also giving them the confidence to build a greater understanding of themselves.
Our learning rich and holistic environment promotes independence, self-determination and positive emotions and allows the child to set own goals; progress at their own pace and caters to all learning styles, competencies and capabilities – giving a platform to teach incremental mindset.
Flow play provokes critical thinking, problem solving skills, effective communication and the significance of effort not just accomplishment. Empowering children to find their passion, take risks, expand their persistence and grit while fostering mindfulness.
We believe for children to succeed they should be empowered with the knowledge required to support independent and informed decision making. Children should be supported to learn about where their food comes from and what foods will nourish and fuel their body. Children should be supported to understand how to keep their bodies healthy and safe.
As a team our educators recognise and celebrate the individual strengths of one another, and utilise these strengths to support in providing the highest quality of care for the children and families at our service. We value accountability and supporting each member of our team to deliver the best possible outcomes for the children in their care.
Our children are the future of our world – we aim to have the most positive impact on these little beings as possible.
